Sant Ravidas Express: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to flag off a new sleeper train service between Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi and Punjab’s Amritsar on Friday, July 17. The train, to be called as Sant Ravidas Express, will offer connectivity between the two states.

PM Modi To Inaugurate Sant Ravidas Express

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the service via video conferencing from Jalandhar, as per a Network 18 report. He is also scheduled to inaugurate Jalandhar’s new railway station on the same day.

Sant Ravidas Express Train Number, Frequency

As per the Network 18 report, the train set to operate between Chheharta in Amritsar and Varanasi will function with train numbers 14624 and 14623. The train will operate for three days a week, rather than operating on a daily basis.

Sant Ravidas Express Running Days

The train (14624) will operate on every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from Chheharta at 2:05 pm. Whereas, train number 14623 will operate from Varanasi every Thursday, Saturday and Monday at 7:05 pm and it will reach Chheharta at 5:10 pm the following day. The train will reach Amritsar by 2:25 pm with a designated halt for five minutes before resuming its route.

On the returning leg, the train will depart Varanasi at 7:05 pm and reach Lucknow at 12:10 am. It will arrive at Amritsar at 4:35 pm the following day before terminating at Chheharta at 5:10 pm.

Sant Ravidas Express Key Stops

Jaunpur City, Sultanpur, Lucknow, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Sahranpur, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar City, and Amritsar will be key stops of Sant Ravidas Express.

Primary maintenance of the train will be carried out at Chheharta station, as per Network 18 report. The new service is expected to boost connectivity between Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and give a fillip to tourism, business travel and family visits.

PM Modi To Flag First Hydrogen Train

Apart from the launch of Sant Ravidas Express, PM Modi is also likely to launch India’s first Hydrogen fuelled train. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to flag off the country’s first hydrogen train from the Jind railway station in Haryana on July 17, sources in the railway ministry told PTI.

As of now, we have received confirmation from the PMO that Prime Minister Modi will flag off the hydrogen train from Jind on July 17,” a senior railway official said.With two driving power cars and eight passenger coaches, the train has undergone extensive trials at speeds ranging from 75 kmph to 120 kmph over the past two-and-a-half months between Sonipat, Jind and New Delhi.
