Fans have broadly given thumbs-up to Akheni’s Lenin, which is likely parallel to Mahabharata; however, certain roles and the run-time were reportedly found to be lengthy. On the whole, Lenin is a decent commercial revenge drama that gives Akhil the commercial outing he has long been waiting for. Akhil’s performance, Bhagyashri Borse’s screen presence, Thaman’s rousing score, and a couple of well-executed twists work in the film’s favour. On the flip side, a few underdeveloped characters, a slightly lengthy runtime, unnecessary songs, and a somewhat predictable plot hold it back. Despite its shortcomings, Lenin emerges as a passable commercial entertainer that makes for a decent weekend watch, as per 123 Telugu Reviews report.

Meanwhile, another sole reviewer said, “Ayyagaru came with a better Cinema for Masses.” User named Bheeshma Talks pointed out that, “In Mahabharata, it’s hard to tell who is truly on our side and who is our enemy. Everyone wears a mask. Lenin is a film set against this very backdrop.”

“There are no absolute heroes or villains here. Every character is shaped by circumstances, making morality feel more grey than black and white,” the reviewer added.

Another reviewer said, “Decent intro with a setup drawing parallels to the Mahabharatham. However, the film soon turns flat with an ineffective love story and tried and tested commercial beats. The film picks up from the pre-interval, and while a few second half blocks and twists work well, its biggest issue is that it feels too reminiscent of rural dramas we’ve seen before, giving it an outdated feel at times. “

“Good interval block other than that first half is flat. Followed by very good second half but climax looks like simple,” said a fan.
