Eye on Bill Pay: Repay’s Text Payment Move; InvoiceCloud Government Payments Tie-in – Digital Transactions
Everyone has bills to pay, and two payments companies are making moves to make that chore as easy as possible. Repay Holdings Corp. is working with SBT, or Solutions by Text, to enable financial-services providers to offer payment via text messages. Separately, InvoiceCloud Inc. is working with public-sector software specialist CentralSquare Technologies LLC to provide a digital-first payment experience.
Atlanta-based Repay says its partnership with SBT, an Addison, Texas-based company, will give consumers more flexibility with their payments.
“Text messaging has become the primary channel for everyday communication. This integration gives Repay’s clients a compliant text-messaging channel for reaching consumers where they are and enabling faster, less intrusive payment options,” Matt Morrow, Repay’s executive vice president of consumer payments, says in a statement.

One benefit for bill-payment companies is that the speediness of paying by text may reduce the risk of late payments or unnecessary fees for consumers while organizations can avoid inefficiencies, Repay says.

In related news, Boston-based InvoiceCloud says its partnership with CentralSquare Technologies will help government agencies using CentralSquare’s software with better digital-payment options.
Specifically, the InvoiceCloud digital-billing and payment platform is integrated with CentralSquare’s tech to enable individuals to make online, mobile, text, and phone-based payments, including one-time and recurring transactions.
Lake Mary, Fla.-based CentralSquare says it works with more than 8,000 agencies and its software is available for public safety, such as emergency call management and records, and public administration, such as finance, payments, and billing. InvoiceCloud says it works with more than 3,250 clients in the utility, government, and insurance industries.
