EXCL: Baylen Dupree and Colin Dooley Hunt for a Home for Their ‘Future Kids’
Newlywed TLC stars Baylen Dupree and Colin Dooley have revealed that they are already thinking about their “future kids,” while hunting for their perfect marital home in South Carolina.
Dupree, 23, and Dooley, 26, who star alongside one another in the hit reality show “Baylen Out Loud,” officially tied the knot in May—however, even before they became husband and wife, the happy couple were already having candid conversations about expanding their family in the future.
And that’s not the only change that the duo is weathering together in the latest season of their reality show, which premiered just 10 days after their wedding and documents the lead-up to the event, as well as Dupree and Dooley’s potential relocation from Washington, DC, to Myrtle Beach, SC.
So far this season, Dupree, a popular content creator who documents her experience living with Tourette Syndrome, and her then-fiancé have been seriously considering a relocation to The Grand Strand so that Dooley can pursue a new career as a real estate agent.
“We are flying to Myrtle Beach to get a sense of the area and just look at a few homes down there. That way, whenever the application gets approved, we can pull the trigger on a house as soon as possible,” explains Dooley, a military member shifting to civilian life, in the most recent episode of the award-winning series.
When they got engaged, the couple was living together in an apartment in DC, which they moved into after Dupree left her parents’ home in Jefferson County, WV.
The transition from her family home to the “bedazzled” abode she shared with Dooley was a huge step forward in Dupree’s push to assert her autonomy and manage her tics, the involuntary movements and sounds that characterize her neurodevelopment disorder.
Yet, a permanent move to the Palmetto State could mark several new milestones for the pair, including becoming first-time homebuyers and, potentially, parents, with Dooley admitting that he was already thinking about how their new home might be the place where they raise their “future kids.”
In an exclusive clip from the upcoming episode of “Baylen Out Loud” that was shared with Realtor.com®, Dupree and Dooley explore their housing options with Josh, a local real estate agent, who took them through a tour of one particularly special property.
“So this is the first primary suite. Got a king-sized bed, got a closet, and then the full bathroom,” Josh says as he starts the walk-through inside a white-walled room with a bed that has a white headboard and blue seashell-patterned comforter.
Dooley heads straight for the double doors of the primary suite closet, which he opens up to reveal builder-grade wire shelving floating above wood-toned flooring.
“Let’s see what this closet is like,” he starts, before warning his fiancée the space is insufficient for her current wardrobe.
“Oh, you’re definitely going to have to downsize, Baylen,” he jokes.
Dupree walks into the primary suite’s full-sized bathroom where there’s a pebble tile shower pan, various blue-toned subway tiles on the wall, and oversized white subway tiles covering a corner seat.
“It’s got a little seat in the shower with a little basket,” Dupree says of the woven accessory before concluding, “This is like the perfect room space.”
Dooley notes the primary bedroom and bathroom are “nice” as Josh readies the couple for the next room by directing them up a staircase made up of light wood-toned treads.
“Let’s head upstairs,” he guides. “All right, so this is a loft area here and then we’ve got primary suite number two.”
The loft area has a lot of natural light filtering in through three windows. A tan area rug, navy couch, white media console, flatscreen TV, and some framed art complete the space.
Down a hallway made of the same light wood-toned flooring that exists throughout the home, the second bedroom houses a bed with a blue blanket that sits opposite a wood-toned dresser and flat screen TV mounted on more creamy white walls.
“This would be our bedroom?” asks Dupree as she makes a beeline for the closet, which this time, is behind a single door but has the same wired shelving.
“It would be a second option,” confirms Dooley, while calling Dupree’s closet assessment accurate.
“Yeah, you’re downsizing a lot. Go ahead. Start the yard sale,” he teases.
Dupree puts her hand over her mouth in disbelief, and then shares a laugh as she parrots, “Start the yard sale.”
Behind-the-scenes, the reality TV stars engage in a little lover’s spat over Dupree’s collection of clothes.
“Too many clothes,” believes Dooley.
“Not too many, just a lot,” corrects Dupree.
“Too many,” adds Dooley, trying to get the last word.
Back inside the move-in ready residence, Dooley takes lead pointing out the features of another bathroom.
“It’s got a tub with this one,” he says about the space that also boasts a single vanity, white toilet, white walls, warm lighting, and a shower with a built-in shelf for toiletries that’s adorned with the same blue subway tile used in the previous bathroom.
“Oh, beautiful,” admires Dupree as her partner declares: “I love that tile.”
Once again, Dupree is drawn to a closet inside the bathroom and asks, “What is this?”
“Like a little linen place,” answers Dooley.
Comparing the linen closet to the bedroom closets from before, Dupree is in disbelief, saying, “This is bigger than the closet!”
Meanwhile, Josh moves them along on the house tour.
“Let’s go check out the next guest bedroom,” the real estate professional says. “This is the first guest bedroom.”
The closet in the first guest bedroom is revealed to have more of the same wire shelving, though there appears to be more racks that are longer than the ones in the other closets.
“OK, this one’s better,” concedes Dupree.
The home’s palette of neutral finishes continues with creamy walls and sage-colored bedding that covers a wood-toned bed flanked by two wood-toned nightstands.
A fourth bedroom, they come to find out, is the boldest design of sleeping quarters in the home.
“And then let’s check out the last bedroom,” encourages Josh.
Catching Dupree and Dooley’s attention is the fact that a bunk bed and additional twin bed fit in the space.
“How do you fit three beds in this room?” asks Dooley.
“It’s definitely the smallest room, but they did it,” counters Dupree, as she notices a vibrant piece of art depicting an orange octopus, which complements the orange lamp sitting atop a blue nightstand set in front of a window in the center of the back wall.
“It’s a great setup,” concurs Josh.
In the kitchen, a suite of stainless steel appliances are embedded in an L-shaped formation of white cabinetry. Matching white countertops have dark barstools below and two pendant lights above.
Dooley loves what he sees and seems to appreciate that the floor plan is flexible enough to evolve alongside their life.
“This house is very beautiful on the inside. It has a lot of bedrooms, so it gives us a lot of options whether we want to have offices for the both of us, future kids as well,” muses Dooley.
The last thing Josh presents to the potential first-time home buyers on the “upper level was the washer and dryer” units that can be tucked behind closed doors.
With a decision on a house and a wedding expected before the season ends, Dupree and Dooley are well on their way to making their happily ever after happen inside a new marital home.
