Consob Blocks Six Illegal Websites in Latest Crackdown on Financial Fraud | LeapRate

Italy’s financial market regulator, Consob, said Friday that it has ordered the blocking of six additional websites found to be offering investment services and financial instruments without proper authorisation.

The blocked sites include aoncfd.com, wallexmarketsbv.it.com, Valore Capital (valore-capital.com), Igcapitaleurope.com, Dortuviax (dortuviax.it), and Market Capital FX (marketcapitalfx.com), along with their associated client portals and trading platforms.

This latest action brings the total number of websites blocked by Consob since July 2019, when the regulator was first granted blocking powers, to 1,799. Of these, 233 are linked to crypto-asset activities.

Consob is using authority granted under Italy’s “Growth Decree” to target unauthorised financial intermediaries, as well as powers under the EU’s MiCAR framework and related legislation to block platforms offering crypto-asset services without proper authorisation.

Internet service providers in Italy are now working to implement the blocks, though Consob notes it may take several days for restrictions to fully take effect due to technical factors.

The regulator is urging investors to remain vigilant, recommending they verify that any platform offering investment or crypto-asset services is properly authorised, and that relevant prospectuses or white papers have been published before committing funds.

Consob also flagged a rise in increasingly sophisticated scam tactics, including cloned websites, fake celebrity and political endorsements, and AI-generated content such as fabricated images, videos and voice recordings designed to manipulate investors.
