BoE leverage overhaul could free up $9bn for UK banks

NatWest and Lloyds stand to benefit the most, while HSBC and StanChart face modest increases
Major UK lenders could see their aggregate leverage capital requirement fall by more than $9.4 billion under the Bank of England’s proposed overhaul of the leverage framework, according to a Risk Quantum analysis.
NatWest Group and Lloyds Banking Group would account for most of the reduction, while Barclays would also benefit. HSBC and Standard Chartered would be the only banks to face higher
