Axi Becomes DP World Tour’s Official Online Trading Partner
Axi has become the Official Online Trading Partner of the DP World Tour under an agreement announced today (Thursday). The deal takes the broker into professional golf for the first time, although neither side disclosed its duration or financial terms.
The agreement adds another sport to Axi’s sponsorship portfolio, which has centered largely on football. The broker said it will receive branding rights at selected DP World Tour tournaments and across the circuit’s digital channels during the season.
Fantasy Game Included in Tour Agreement
The planned activations include Fantasy DP World Tour Powered by Axi, a branded version of the tour’s fantasy golf game. Axi said further details about its involvement at individual tournaments will be released during the season.
The arrangement also gives Axi access to hospitality and networking opportunities as the DP World Tour stages events across international markets. The announcement does not specify which tournaments will feature the broker.
Rajesh Yohannan
“Golf and trading share the same DNA,” Axi Chief Executive Rajesh Yohannan said. He linked both activities to preparation, discipline and small performance margins.
DP World Tour Chief Executive Guy Kinnings described the circuit’s audience as “affluent, financially savvy.” He said the parties plan to run campaigns across several channels and organize networking initiatives in Axi’s priority markets.
Brokers Extend Sports Marketing Beyond Football
Football continues to attract much of the retail trading industry’s sponsorship spending, but brokers have also moved into golf and motor racing. The new Axi agreement differs from most broker-backed golf projects because it covers an international tour rather than one player or tournament.
KCM Trade, for example, signed Australian professional golfer Enshan Hooi as a sponsor for his 2025 tour. The agreement was announced in May 2025 and followed the broker’s involvement with the Medway Corporate Golf Cup in Australia, according to previous Finance Magnates coverage.
Other trading platforms have spread their spending across several sports. In January 2026, eToro became the exclusive trading and investment partner of the BWT Alpine Formula One Team and signed agreements with four French football clubs for the 2025/26 season. The platform spent $10.7 million on sports sponsorships during the 2024/25 season.
Axi said it is the first online trading provider to partner with a professional golf tour. That description is the broker’s own and excludes earlier agreements between trading firms and individual golfers, golf academies or standalone tournaments.
Axi Builds on Manchester City Sponsorship
Axi entered sports sponsorship in 2020 through a multi-year agreement with Manchester City. The deal coincided with the broker’s rebrand from AxiTrader and gave it advertising and digital rights connected to the Premier League club.
In March 2023, the broker extended the Manchester City agreement and added sponsorship rights covering the club’s women’s team. The financial terms and full length of that extension were not made public.
Axi has since worked with Manchester City players on campaigns for its trading products. One campaign used the club’s players to promote Axi Select, the broker’s capital allocation program.
The broker has also developed football relationships outside England. Its reported sponsorship portfolio includes Brazilian club Esporte Clube Bahia and Spain’s Girona FC, where Axi has operated as an official online trading partner for Latin America. Manchester City defender John Stones has appeared in Axi campaigns as a brand ambassador, FinanceMagnates.com reported earlier.
