AI tools cut advisor admin time by 50%, CIBC says
Part of a broader AI platform strategy
AdvisorAssist is the latest in a suite of AI tools CIBC has brought to market since 2025. CIBC DocuMind, an enterprise document intelligence platform launched in 2025, processes approximately 63,000 documents a month and has saved an average of 16,000 hours per quarter since launch, according to CIBC. The platform is used to accelerate lending decisions and strengthen fraud detection.
CIBC Voice Assistant, also launched in 2025, has handled more than 16 million client calls since going live, directing clients to the appropriate service channel and resolving routine enquiries without advisor or representative involvement.
A third platform, CIBC CRTeX, gives advisors real-time client insights and suggested next-best-action prompts to support more personalised conversations. Together, the four tools reflect a deliberate strategy to build AI into advisory and client service functions rather than using it exclusively for back-office automation.
“At CIBC, we see AI as an enabler of who we already are: a relationship-driven, client-focused bank,” said Jaime Tatis, Executive Vice-President and Chief Data & Artificial Intelligence Officer, CIBC, Toronto. “All of these tools, working together, help create a more personalized, client-first experience and enable our advisors to focus on what matters most — our clients.”
The launch positions CIBC alongside a growing number of Canadian and North American firms racing to deploy AI across the advice channel.
