Travis Kelce Shares New Details About ‘Epic’ At-Home Proposal to Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce officially became husband and wife on July 3—but the newlywed NFL star still hasn’t fully moved on from his at-home proposal to the songstress, sharing new details about the milestone relationship moment in his first official appearance since their New York City wedding.

Days after tying the knot with Swift, 36, at famed concert venue and sporting arena Madison Square Garden, Kelce, also 36, released a new episode of his podcast, “New Heights,” in which he opened up about the “epic” moment, while confirming rumors that it took place just after the singer appeared on the show.

Speaking to his brother and co-host, Jason Kelce, 38, and their guest, NFL legend Tom Brady, 48, Kelce reflected on his August 2025 proposal to his new wife, who made a surprise appearance in a “New Heights” episode the same day, seemingly unaware that she was about to get engaged.

“Starting [the podcast season] with Taylor [was] pretty epic,” the Kansas City Chiefs star gushed. “During that recording the entire time, I’m planning, like, ‘I’m gonna ask this woman to marry me after this.'”

He then described the pre-proposal episode as one he will “remember forever,” hailing it as “really cool” and “pretty fun.”

Interestingly, he shared no information about his wedding to Swift, which took place in New York City on July 3 and was attended by his brother, Brady, and a host of other stars, including Bradley Cooper, Gigi Hadid, Simone Biles, Brad Pitt, and Jennifer Lopez.

Thus far, no official images have been shared from the star-studded event, which is said to have been attended by 1,000 guests—although Swift’s longtime spokesperson, Tree Paine, did release a statement in which she confirmed specific details about the wedding, including the attire worn by the bride and groom.

According to the official release, both the bride and groom sported Christian Dior Haute Couture, Christian Louboutin shoes, and Cartier jewelry—and neither had a bridal party, instead relying on their siblings to be by their side during the ceremony.

“Taylor and Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Austin Swift served as Taylor’s Man of Honor Jason Kelce was Travis’ Best Man,” the statement read.

According to People, the singer walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of her hit “Love Story.”

“They were both beaming the entire night,” an unnamed guest told the outlet.

The insider further revealed that the lovers spent 20 minutes exchanging their handwritten vows, and that they handed out custom handkerchiefs, embroidered with a “TT” and a lyric from Swift’s 2014 song “Blank Space.”

It remains to be seen whether Kelce and Swift will release any official imagery from the event, which they went to great lengths to keep private.

When the couple got engaged, they did share photos of the proposal, but waited around two weeks before releasing them to the public in a join Instagram post.

The NFL star, who began dating the “Lover” hitmaker in 2023, popped the question with a stunning diamond rock that perfectly matched Swift’s other sparkler that Kelce previously gifted her.

They captioned the Instagram post, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

According to TMZ, the ring on Swift’s finger is an old mine brilliant cut, and the designer is Kindred Lubeck.

The singer appeared to be overjoyed with the proposal as she embraced Kelce in a slew of photos while showing off her stunning diamond ring.

In one photo, Kelce could be seen kneeling among a garden of roses that he set up at his Kansas home, while Swift appeared shocked.

In another snap, Swift softly grabbed her lover’s face as she leaned in to give him a hug.

The newly engaged couple even posed for a photo on a swing, where Swift laid her head on Kelce’s shoulder and gave the camera a soft smile.

According to Page Six, the engagement had been in the works for quite some time, with Kelce having reportedly asked Swift’s dad, Scott, for her hand in marriage just months after they began dating.

But while Kelce has now shed new light on the engagement, he shared little other information about the newlyweds’ plans now that they are married—including where they are planning to settle down.

The NFL star has committed to another season with the Chiefs, signing a one-year contract extension with the team just a few weeks before his wedding, suggesting that they will spend at least part of the coming year living at his mansion in Leawood, KS, the same property where he popped the question.

Kelce purchased his 17,000-square-foot mansion in 2023, shortly after he went public with his romance with Swift, and she has spent a great deal of time at the dwelling.

Located inside a gated community, the grand estate sits on nearly 3.5 acres at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac.

The six-bedroom, six-bathroom mansion sits behind a gated entrance that opens to a dramatic circular driveway. The inside is an entertainer’s dream and includes a chef’s kitchen, formal dining room, media lounge, wine cellar, and full bar.

Outside, the expansive backyard is anchored by a “Beverly Hills-style” pool area with plenty of space for lounge chairs, umbrellas, and pool toys.

There’s also an outdoor kitchen, a tennis/pickleball court, waterfall, hot tub, and miniature golf course.

However, Swift owns multiple other dwellings across the U.S. where they may one day choose to settle down—including homes in Nashville and New York City.

One of the first properties Swift snapped up was a chic penthouse in Nashville’s Music Row, which she purchased for $1.9 million in 2009.

The penthouse sprawls across 3,240 square feet and boasts three bedrooms, high ceilings, and an open floor plan.

It also comes complete with a heated resort-style pool.

Two years later, Swift bought a mansion in the Northumberland Estate neighborhood of Nashville for $2.5 million.

The property measures 5,600 square feet and comes complete with four bedrooms and five bathrooms.

A 2,000-square-foot guesthouse sits adjacent to the abode.

Swift also holds the keys to a luxurious Beverly Hills, CA, home, which she purchased in 2015 for $25 million. The lavish spread was once owned by movie producer Samuel Goldwyn, co-founder of Goldwyn Pictures.

In 2014, Swift turned her sights to New York City as she snapped up two penthouses in the chic Tribeca neighborhood for about $20 million and combined them into a nine-bedroom, nine-bath abode with beamed ceilings, a curved staircase, and enormous windows.

She purchased a third unit in the building a few years later for $9.75 million, increasing her Tribeca takeover by over 3,500 square feet.

Then, in 2017, the pop star splurged on an adjacent townhouse, paying $18 million for the three-story mansion measuring 5,000 square feet, which joins her growing urban empire.

While her Tribeca pad was undergoing renovation, she resided in a West Village townhouse, which she reportedly paid $38,000 a month to live in from 2016-2017.

The rental boasts 5,500 square feet, four bedrooms, five bathrooms, two powder rooms, a kitchen, a rooftop, and an indoor pool.

In 2013, Swift bought a $17.75 million beachside estate in Rhode Island, which quickly became her go-to vacation getaway.

The residence—which is located in the exclusive enclave of Watch Hill in Westerly and is known locally as “Holiday House”—currently sprawls across 11,000 square feet and features seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms.

However, it was previously revealed that Swift had plans to renovate the abode to expand it with an additional bedroom, while transforming one of the existing rooms into an “enlarged bedroom suite.”

In total, the project will add 400 square feet to the property.

It is unclear when exactly the construction began, however, the renovation plans were drawn up on Nov. 25 and Dec. 4, 2024, before Swift’s final “Eras Tour” show on Dec. 8, with an expiration date of Dec. 4, 2025. It’s thought that the work was completed before the singer hosted what is understood to have been her bachelorette party at the property.

The renovation was completed by a team of Rhode Island–based contractors, led by David W. Shafovaloff, who is located in Hope Valley and describes himself on LinkedIn as a “self-employed construction project manager” who specializes in “high end residential and commercial construction.”

In addition to its many bedrooms and bathrooms, Swift’s opulent home currently features a 36-foot-long parlor and an octagonal dining room.

The extravagant seaside estate was built in 1930 and once belonged to composer and socialite Rebekah Harkness, who was married to William Hale “Bill” Harkness.

Swift’s abode has been described as the ultimate getaway, offering “700 feet of private beachfront” and eight fireplaces, per its original listing.

Then, of course, there is the celebrity cachet that Swift’s ownership of the home has added. Over the years, the property has played host to many of Swift’s star-studded events, including her iconic Fourth of July parties, which have welcomed a long list of A-listers such as Selena Gomez and Blake Lively.

Meanwhile, in addition to his Florida dwelling, Kelce also owns a 4,200-square-foot mansion in the Briarcliff West neighborhood of Kansas City that he purchased for $995,000 in 2019.
