Hightower Signature Wealth Adds Three Firms With $5B

Hightower Advisors, the Chicago-based registered investment advisor with more than $350 billion in client assets, has added three firms, Private Vista, Hightower Great Lakes and The McGuirk & De Nevi Group, to Hightower Signature Wealth, the branded W-2 channel it launched in October

The three practices bring about $5 billion in combined assets under management, six locations and more than 40 team members to Hightower Signature. The division now has about $35 billion in AUM and more than 140 advisors across 40 locations.

Just this year, Hightower Signature has added more than $25 billion in AUM from both internal and external deals.

Hightower made a strategic investment in Private Vista, an RIA with offices in Chicago and Oak Brook, Ill., in 2020.

Hightower Great Lakes, previously Scannell & Associates, transitioned to the Hightower network in 2009. The firm, based in Valparaiso, Ind., is led by Managing Director and partner Tim Scannell.

McGuirk & De Nevi is led by Michael De Nevi, managing partner, and Thomas McGuirk, managing director, who joined Hightower in 2010.

Hightower CEO Larry Restieri announced the new, branded channel in October 2025, saying it would compete more directly with other large RIAs by incorporating some of its over 100 partner firms, as well as external recruits, into a closely integrated “firm within a firm” operating as a single entity.

The creation of the Hightower Signature Wealth division was one of the first moves by Restieri, who took over as CEO of Hightower last June. He had previously led Goldman Sachs’ Ayco business. He took over from CEO Bob Oros, who had overseen the rapid expansion of the firm, including more than 50 acquisitions onto its platform.
