How to Order LPG Gas Cylinder on Swiggy Instamart: HPCL Launches 10-Minute Delivery in Bengaluru

Business

If you are a resident of Bengaluru, you can easily order Gas cylinders just like your groceries in 10 mins from Swiggy.

Swiggy Instamart, the quick-commerce arm of Swiggy, has partnered with state-run Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to launch India’s first on-demand LPG cylinder delivery service on a quick-commerce platform.

Gas Cylinder on Swiggy Instamart

The gas cylinder delivery services went live on Wednesday, July 15, as a pilot in Bengaluru, and Instamart is entering the cooking-fuel category after years of expanding across groceries, fresh produce, snacks, electronics and household essentials.

Swiggy & HPCL Partnership

Under the partnership, Bengaluru consumers can now order two cylinder formats through the Instamart app : HP Navya, HPCL’s newly launched 10 kg composite LPG cylinder, and a 5 kg metal LPG cylinder.

These are smaller-format cylinders different from the standard 14.2 kg domestic cylinder used in most Indian households.

No Existing Gas Connection Required

A top feature of this arrangement is that customers do not need an existing HP Gas domestic LPG connection to place an order.

According to swiggy this is designed to reach a broader set of consumers, including students, working professionals and smaller households who may not hold a formal gas connection.

How To Order LPG Cylinder From Instamart

For the First-time purchases on the platform, users can get a new gas cylinder by providing a one-time identity verification, with proof-of-delivery documentation.

For subsequent orders, customers can place refill requests simply by returning their empty HPCL cylinder at the time of delivery.

All orders are completed through HPCL’s authorised distributor network and delivered by the distributor’s trained people for existing safety and regulatory requirements for LPG handling.

Pricing for the cylinders has not yet been disclosed by either company.

The service is currently available only in Bengaluru. Swiggy and HPCL have said they will study customer demand and feedback from the pilot before expanding to additional cities.
